My spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior,
Mary spoke these words at a moment when her life looked complicated, not comfortable. She was young, facing hard conversations, and stepping into a future she couldn't fully explain. Yet her joy didn't wait for easier circumstances. It came from knowing God personally as her Savior.
That's a good reminder for us today. Happiness usually depends on what's happening around us, but joy is rooted in who God is to us. When He is our Savior, we always have a reason to rejoice, even on the messy days.
So try this today: before you check your phone or your to-do list, tell God one thing you love about Him. Maybe it's His faithfulness, His forgiveness, or the way He never leaves you alone. Saying it out loud shifts your heart faster than just thinking it.
Then let that joy show. Smile at someone, whisper a thank-you to God in the middle of a busy afternoon, or play a song of praise while you work. Joy that's expressed becomes joy that spreads.
Dear Lord, thank You for being my Savior, so my joy doesn't have to depend on my circumstances. Help me to rejoice in You today, in both the small moments and the hard ones. In Jesus' name, Amen.
