Lamentations 3:24

Jeremiah wrote these words while sitting in the rubble of a broken city. Everything around him had collapsed, yet his soul still had something to say. That tells us something important: hope isn't based on everything going right. It's based on who God is when everything else is uncertain.

To say God is your portion means He is what you've been given, your share, your inheritance. In a world that constantly measures us by salaries, square footage, and followers, that's a radical shift. When you have God, you are not empty-handed, even when life feels lean.

So how do you live this today? When worry creeps in about money, health, or your kids, talk to your soul the way Jeremiah did. Say it out loud if you have to: 'God is what I have, and God is enough.' Speaking truth to your own heart is not strange; it's biblical.

Then let that truth shape one decision today. Maybe you stop chasing approval you don't need, release an outcome you can't control, or thank God for His presence instead of complaining about what's missing. Hope grows every time you act like He really is your portion.

Notice that hope here is a choice, not a feeling. You can choose to hope in Him today, even before circumstances change.

Father, thank You that You Yourself are my portion and my reward. When my soul feels anxious or empty, remind me that in You I have everything I truly need. Today, I choose to place my hope in You alone. Amen.
