Most of us want freedom, but we rarely think about where it actually comes from. Jesus points us somewhere surprising: it comes from knowing the truth. That means freedom isn't just about changed circumstances; it starts with being honest about what's really going on in our hearts.

So many of us live chained to lies without even realizing it. Things like "I'm not good enough," "God is disappointed in me," or "nothing will ever change." Today, try naming one lie you've been believing, and then hold it up against what God actually says about you.

Truth-telling also means dropping the habit of hiding. When we confess our struggles to God and to a trusted friend, shame loses its grip. Secrets keep us bound, but truth spoken out loud begins to set us free.

Here's a simple practice: this week, spend a few minutes each day in Scripture and ask, "What lie am I believing, and what truth can I replace it with?" Freedom isn't a one-time event. It grows every time we choose truth over pretending.

Sometimes knowing the truth is uncomfortable at first, like flipping on a light in a messy room. But remember why Jesus said this: He wants you free, not shamed. The truth may sting for a moment, but it always leads to relief, healing, and a lighter life.

Dear Lord, show me the lies I've been believing and replace them with Your truth. Give me the courage to be honest with You and with others, and help me walk in the freedom You came to give. Amen.
