John 14:21

Jesus makes a simple but powerful connection here: loving Him and obeying Him go together. Love for God isn't just a warm feeling we have on Sunday mornings. It shows up in the ordinary choices we make on a Tuesday afternoon.

So ask yourself today: what is one thing God has already asked of you? Maybe it's forgiving someone who hurt you, telling the truth when a lie would be easier, or being patient with a difficult coworker. Love isn't measured in grand gestures but in small acts of obedience.

Here's the good news: we don't obey to earn God's love. We obey because we already have it. Just like a child who trusts her father follows his instructions gladly, we follow Jesus because we know His heart is good.

And notice the promise tucked into this verse. Jesus doesn't just ask for obedience. He promises to reveal Himself to those who love Him. Every time you say yes to God, you get to know Him a little more deeply. That's a friendship worth building, one obedient step at a time.

Dear Lord, thank You for loving me first and making obedience a joy instead of a burden. Help me today to show my love for You in one concrete choice, even when it's hard. Reveal more of Yourself to me as I walk with You. Amen.
