John 13:35

Jesus gave His followers one simple identifying mark: love for one another. Not a bumper sticker, not a wardrobe, not even impressive knowledge — just love. That means the world is actually watching how we treat each other and drawing conclusions about Jesus because of it.

So what does that kind of love look like on a Tuesday afternoon? It looks like checking on the friend who went quiet, listening without checking your phone, and showing up when it is inconvenient. It looks like forgiving quickly instead of keeping score. Love is rarely loud; it is usually just consistent.

Here is the hard part: Jesus was not talking about loving people who are easy to love. He meant loving the people right in front of you — the family member who pushes your buttons, the church member who frustrates you, the neighbor nobody else notices. That is where our love stops being theory and starts being real.

Today, pick one person and love them in a way they can see and feel. Send the text, make the call, drop off the meal, offer the kind word. Small acts of love done in Jesus' name say more about Him than a hundred well-worded arguments ever could.

Father, thank You for loving me first, even when I did not deserve it. Help me love the people around me today — especially the ones who are hard to love. Make my life a living witness that points others straight to You. Amen.
