Joel 3:16

Some days it feels like the whole world is shaking. Bad news comes in waves, finances get tight, and the future looks uncertain. Joel reminds us that God's voice is powerful enough to make heaven and earth tremble.

But here's the hope in that picture: the same God whose voice shakes everything is a safe hiding place for His people. His power is not a threat to you—it's your protection. The storm doesn't frighten the one standing inside the fortress.

So today, when something rattles you, try this: pause and pray before you panic. Name what's scaring you out loud to God, and then remind yourself that He is your refuge. You don't have to hold everything together when you're resting in the One who holds all things.

And don't wait for a crisis to start this habit. Spend a few minutes each morning telling God you trust Him as your stronghold. That way, when the shaking comes, running to Him will already be your first instinct.

Dear Lord, thank You that Your mighty power is my safe place. When life feels shaky, help me run to You first instead of giving in to fear. I rest in You today as my refuge and strength. Amen.
