Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don’t know.
Have you ever noticed how quickly we exhaust every other option before we finally pray? We search online, ask friends, and replay scenarios in our heads at 2 a.m. This verse reminds us that God wants to be our first call, not our last resort.
Notice the invitation: simply call to me. You do not have to earn it or get your life perfectly together first. God asks you to talk to Him, and He promises to answer. That answer may not come as a voice from heaven, but He often speaks through Scripture, wise counsel, a settled peace, or doors opening and closing.
There are things about your situation you simply cannot see from where you stand right now. God sees the whole picture, including what is still hidden ahead of you. When you pray, you are inviting the One who knows the end from the beginning to guide your very next step.
Try this today: pick one thing you have been carrying alone. Set aside five quiet minutes, tell God about it honestly, and then sit in silence for a moment before you rush off. Bring a journal if it helps you listen. You may be surprised what clarity comes when you stop striving and start calling.
Dear Lord, thank You that You invite me to call on You and promise to answer. Help me bring You my questions before I try to solve everything on my own, and give me a listening heart. Amen.
