Yahweh will strike Egypt, striking and healing. They will return to Yahweh, and he will be entreated by them, and will heal them.
Sometimes God allows hard seasons in our lives, and it can feel like He is against us. But this verse shows us something deeper: the same God who permits the striking is the one who does the healing. His goal is never to crush us. His goal is to turn our hearts back toward Him.
So when life hurts, your first instinct might be to pull away from God or quietly resent Him. Try the opposite today. Treat your pain as an invitation, not a punishment. Let every ache and disappointment be a nudge to come closer instead of running further.
The beautiful promise here is that when we return, God listens. He is not waiting to lecture you. He is waiting to hear you. Take a few minutes today to pray honestly about what is broken in your life, whether it is your body, your relationships, or your heart.
Healing usually does not happen all at once, and that is okay. The God who disciplines you is the same God who stays with you through the whole recovery. Keep returning to Him daily, and trust that the One who allowed the wound is fully able to bind it up.
Dear Lord, thank You that even Your discipline carries Your mercy inside it. Draw me back to You in my hard seasons, and heal the places in my life that are broken. I trust You to finish the good work You have started in me. Amen.
