It's easy to fill our lives with religious activity — attending services, volunteering, checking the boxes — and still miss God's heart. He isn't impressed by our routines when our hearts are distant from Him. What He longs for is real: mercy flowing out of us and a genuine relationship with Him.
Hosea 6:6

For I desire mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
So what does that look like on a Monday morning? It looks like forgiving the coworker who snapped at you instead of keeping score. It looks like showing kindness to someone who can't repay you — the lonely neighbor, the family member who's hard to love.
It also means pursuing God Himself, not just collecting facts about Him. Ten minutes of honest prayer — telling Him the truth about your day and quietly listening — will grow you more than a lifetime of empty ritual. Get to know Him like you would a close friend: talk, listen, and keep showing up.
Before you do anything spiritual today, pause and ask one question: is this coming from love for God and people, or am I just going through the motions? When mercy and knowing Him become the goal, everything else finds its rightful place.
Dear Lord, forgive me for the times I've offered You routine instead of my heart. Teach me to love people with Your mercy and to truly know You, not just know about You. Make my everyday life an offering You delight in. Amen.
