Hebrews 12:14

Peace with people doesn't happen by accident. The word 'pursue' pictures a runner leaning into a race, eyes forward and feet moving. In the same way, peace takes real effort, not just good intentions.

So what does that look like today? It might mean sending the first text, apologizing without adding a 'but,' or letting a small offense go instead of keeping score. When someone snaps at you, ask yourself: do I want to be right, or do I want to be at peace?

This verse pairs peace with holiness, and that's no accident. It's hard to live at peace with others when our own hearts are cluttered with compromise. Purity isn't about being perfect; it's about direction, turning toward God one honest choice at a time.

Guard what you feed your heart today. The shows you watch, the scrolling you do, the conversations you entertain — all of it shapes what grows in you. When something pulls you toward darkness, don't negotiate with it. Simply walk away and run back to God, who is always gentle with a heart that comes clean.

Father, help me chase peace today instead of holding on to my grudges. Show me one relationship to mend and one habit to surrender, and keep my heart clean before You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
