Hebrews 12:11

Let's be honest: correction doesn't feel good. Whether it's a consequence for a bad choice, a season of waiting, or a door God closes in your face, hard times sting. The Bible doesn't pretend otherwise, and neither should we.

But here's the truth that changes everything: God disciplines you because you belong to Him. A loving parent corrects a child not to hurt them, but to train them. Your pain today may be producing patience, humility, or wisdom that you'll carry for the rest of your life.

So how do you live this out? Next time life feels like a correction, change your question. Instead of asking, "Why is this happening to me?" ask, "Lord, what are You teaching me in this?" Keep a simple note on your phone and write down one lesson from each hard season.

And don't quit halfway through. The fruit of discipline comes later, not instantly. If you look back at past struggles, you can probably see now what God was doing. Trust that He's doing the same thing in today's trouble, even when you can't see it yet.

Father, thank You for loving me enough to correct me and not let me drift. Help me to trust Your heart when Your hand feels heavy, and give me patience to wait for the good fruit You are growing in me. Amen.
