When God's people started rebuilding the temple, they looked at the modest project in front of them and felt discouraged. It didn't come close to the glory of what once was. But God reminded them that He was not limited by what they could see. He promised to shake the nations and bring treasure from places they never expected.
Maybe you're looking at your own life right now and the numbers just don't add up. The savings account is thin, the opportunity seems small, and the dream God placed in your heart feels out of reach. Take heart: God's provision does not depend on the size of what's in your hands. He specializes in filling ordinary things with His glory.
Notice that God says He will shake the nations. Sometimes the shaking in our lives, like a job loss, a market crash, or a sudden change, is not meant to destroy us but to loosen our grip on things that were never our source. When everything unstable falls away, we discover that God alone is steady.
So today, build faithfully with what you have. Work with excellence, give generously even when it's small, and keep your home and heart open to God's presence. Obedience in little things positions you for the greater glory God wants to pour out.
The increase you're praying for is already on its way, carried in the hands of a God who owns the treasure of every nation. Stay faithful, stay expectant, and keep the door open for Him to fill your house.
Dear Lord, I bring You the small things in my hands today and ask You to fill them with Your glory. Help me trust You in the shaking and remember that You alone are my source. I open my heart and my home to You. Amen.
