Habakkuk wrote these words while life around him looked confusing and unfair. Yet God gave him a picture of hope: one day, everyone everywhere would truly know who God is. Notice that this isn't just about facts or information. Knowing God means recognizing His character, His presence, and His glory in the middle of real, everyday life.
So how do you live this out today? Start by training your eyes to notice God in ordinary moments. His glory shows up in a sunrise, in a friend's kindness, in the strength He gives you to get through a hard week. When you pause and say, 'God, I see You in this,' you're participating in this promise right where you are.
You can also grow in knowing God the way you grow in any relationship: by spending time together. Even five minutes of Scripture and honest prayer in the morning shapes your whole day. The goal isn't to check a box. It's to let what you learn about God's heart change how you speak, work, and treat people.
And here's the beautiful part: you get to help fill the earth with the knowledge of God's glory. When you show patience at work, honesty when it costs you, or love to someone who's hard to love, people get a glimpse of who He is. Your ordinary faithfulness becomes a window into God's glory for someone else.
Dear Lord, open my eyes to see Your glory in the ordinary moments of my day. Help me know You more deeply and reflect You clearly to everyone around me. Amen.
