Genesis 33:11

Have you ever noticed how some people just seem at peace with what they have? In this moment between two brothers, we hear a man who could have demanded payback instead saying, in effect, "God has been good to me, and I have enough." That kind of rest doesn't come from a big bank account. It comes from seeing everything you have as a gift from a gracious God.

So much of our anxiety comes from a quiet lie: that we don't have enough yet. Not enough money, time, recognition, or love. That lie makes us grip everything tightly. Today, fight it with a simple practice—name five things God has already given you, out loud, before you ask Him for anything else.

Here's the beautiful part: people who know they have enough become generous. Esau didn't just enjoy his blessing privately; he pressed a gift into his brother's hands and wouldn't let him walk away without it. Ask yourself, "What has God given me that someone near me needs right now?" It might be money, a meal, an hour of your time, or simply a kind word to someone who's struggling.

"Enough" is also the key to making peace. When you're not trying to get something back from people, you can forgive them and move forward. Trusting God to take care of you frees you to release old debts—emotional and otherwise—and embrace the people you've been keeping at a distance.

Dear Lord, thank You for dealing graciously with me, even on the days I fail to notice it. Teach me to live from Your sufficiency instead of chasing more, and open my hands to give freely and make peace with those around me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
