Genesis 2:9

From the very beginning, God was generous. He filled the garden with trees that were beautiful and nourishing, showing us His heart is not stingy. His boundaries were never meant to rob us of joy but to protect what is good.

But notice there were two trees in the middle of that garden. One offered life, and the other offered knowledge on our own terms. Adam and Eve had a real choice, and so do we. Every single day, we decide which tree we will reach for.

We live in a time when information never stops coming. News feeds, opinions, endless updates — we can know a little about everything and still feel anxious and empty. Not all knowledge feeds our souls. Some of it only waters worry, pride, or comparison.

So be intentional today. Before you scroll or react, pause and ask yourself: is this giving me life, or just filling my head? Time in God's presence and His Word produces the wisdom and peace that endless information never will.

Choosing the tree of life is not a one-time decision; it is a daily habit. Start small — one honest prayer, one quiet moment, one piece of content you walk away from. Little choices shape what kind of person you become.

Father, thank You for Your generosity and Your wise boundaries. Help me choose what gives life today instead of chasing every bit of knowledge that leaves me drained. Teach me to find my wisdom in You alone. Amen.
