But there is freedom in pausing to ask, "Is there anything in my own life that's feeding this struggle?" Not to beat yourself up, but to be honest before God.
Confession isn't about drowning in shame; it's the doorway to healing. When we name our sin specifically instead of hiding behind vague apologies, we stop pretending and start growing. God doesn't expose our mess to humiliate us—He invites us to bring it into the light so He can actually deal with it.
Today, take a few quiet minutes and ask God to search your heart. Write down anything He brings to mind—a habit, a grudge, a compromise you've been tolerating. Then confess it plainly and receive His forgiveness. Honesty with God is always the first step toward a fresh start.
Dear Lord, give me the courage to be honest with You about my own heart instead of making excuses. Forgive me for the ways I've strayed, and give me the strength to turn from them today. Thank You that Your mercy meets me the moment I come clean. Amen.
