Moses wanted out of the assignment. He pointed at his weakness, saying his mouth couldn't do the job. But God didn't cancel the mission because Moses felt unqualified. Instead, He made a promise: I will be with your mouth. Endurance often begins right there, believing that God covers the very places we feel weakest.
Exodus 4:15
Shared devotional content from the common study platform.
You shall speak to him, and put the words in his mouth. I will be with your mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what you shall do.
Notice that God also gave Moses a helper. He never intended for Moses to carry the weight alone. When you are tempted to quit, ask yourself who God has placed around you, a friend, a spouse, a mentor, a coworker who can stand with you. Accepting help is not failure; it is often how God keeps you going.
God also promised to teach them what to do. Not reveal everything at once, just enough for the next step. When you feel stuck or overwhelmed, you don't need the whole roadmap today. You need the next right word, the next right action, and the faith that God will supply it as you move.
So today, show up with your shaky voice anyway. Have the hard conversation, share your faith, make the phone call, speak the truth in love. Endurance is not the absence of weakness. It is trusting that God is with your mouth even when your knees shake.
Remember that the One who called you is the One who equips you. Your inadequacy is not a disqualification; it is an invitation to depend on Him. Keep speaking, keep stepping, and let God fill in what you lack.
Dear Lord, thank You that You are with my mouth even when I feel unqualified. Teach me what to do next, and help me accept the people You have placed beside me. Give me the strength to keep going, one step at a time. Amen.
