Ephesians 6:18

Paul ends his famous description of spiritual armor with a command to keep on praying. Not once a day or only when crisis hits, but constantly. Prayer is less like a scheduled meeting and more like an open phone line with someone you love — the call never has to end.

In real life, that means turning ordinary moments into prayer moments. Waiting in the pickup line, washing dishes, walking to your car — whisper a prayer right there. You do not need fancy words or a quiet room. God hears the two-second prayers just as clearly as the long ones.

This verse also calls us to stay alert and keep praying for others, even when we see no results. That takes endurance. Pick three or four people — a friend who is struggling, a family member far from God, someone serving in a hard place — and pray for them by name every day this week. When you are tempted to quit because nothing has changed, that is exactly when perseverance matters most.

Being watchful means paying attention to what is happening around you and letting it move you to prayer instead of worry. When you hear bad news, pray before you scroll. When someone shares a burden with you, lift it to God right then, even out loud if you can.

Dear Lord, teach me to pray without stopping — in the car, at work, and in the quiet moments. Give me endurance to keep lifting up the people You have placed in my life, even when I cannot yet see the answers. Amen.
