Ephesians 5:5

What we constantly chase reveals what we truly worship. When a desire takes over our hearts, whether it's someone else's body, someone else's life, or someone else's possessions, that thing quietly starts sitting where God belongs. This warning isn't meant to scare you; it's meant to wake you up to what's really going on inside.

Start by paying attention to your everyday habits. What do you scroll through, watch, or daydream about when no one is looking? If a pattern keeps pulling you toward impurity or a restless wanting for more, name it honestly before God instead of pretending it's harmless.

Then take one real, practical step. That might mean putting accountability software on your phone, unfollowing accounts that stir up lust or envy, or choosing to thank God for what you already have every time you feel tempted to want more. Small choices, repeated daily, are how a pure heart is built.

And if you've already fallen, don't hide in shame; run to God instead. His grace is bigger than your worst failure, and honest confession is the doorway back to freedom. Purity isn't about being perfect; it's about walking closely with the One who is.

Father, show me where my desires have quietly taken Your place in my heart. Give me the strength to guard my eyes, my habits, and my thoughts today, and help me choose what pleases You. Thank You for Your grace that meets me even when I fall. Amen.
