Ephesians 1:5

Many of us spend our days trying to earn our place—at work, at home, even with God. We hustle, we perform, we prove. But here's the truth: God didn't bring you into His family because you impressed Him. He chose you simply because it brought Him joy to do so.

Think about what adoption really means. You didn't sneak in through a side door—you were legally, permanently welcomed as a son or daughter. That status doesn't rise or fall with your mood, your mistakes, or your wins this week.

So today, pay attention to how you talk to yourself. When you mess up, reject the voice that whispers you're a disappointment. Instead, say it out loud: I am God's child, loved because of who He is, not because of what I do.

Then live like you belong. Pray like a kid running to a loving father, not a stranger nervously knocking on a door. And look around you—every believer you meet today is family, so treat them that way.

You don't have to fight for a seat at the table. It's already yours, bought by Jesus and sealed by the Father's delight in you. Walk in that confidence today.

Dear Father, thank You for adopting me into Your family through Jesus—not because I earned it, but because it pleased You. Help me live today as Your beloved child, confident and free. Amen.
