Ecclesiastes 9:10

So much of life is spent half-present. We answer emails while half-listening to our kids, plan tomorrow's errands during a conversation, and rush through tasks just to get to the next one. But God never asked us to do everything — He asked us to do what's in front of us with everything we've got.

This verse is a loving reminder that our time is limited. One day, the chance to work, serve, and love the people around us will be gone. That's not meant to scare you — it's meant to wake you up to the value of today.

So put your whole heart into whatever your hand finds. Fold the laundry like it matters. Give that report your honest best effort. Look someone in the eye and truly listen instead of scrolling.

You don't need to add more things to your plate. You just need to be more fully present in the things already on it. When you work wholeheartedly, even ordinary tasks become an offering to God.

That's the secret to a focused life: not doing more, but doing what you do with your might — because this day, this work, and these people are gifts you won't always have.

Father, help me stop scattering my attention and start showing up fully in the work You've placed in my hands today. Give me focus, energy, and a whole heart in even the smallest tasks, so that my ordinary days would honor You. Amen.
