Ecclesiastes 1:18

Have you ever learned something that made your heart heavy? Maybe a hard truth about the world, a painful reality about someone you love, or a glimpse of how broken things really are. The more we understand about life, the more we feel its weight. That honest tension is exactly what this verse names.

But this is not a reason to stay ignorant or stop growing. It is an invitation to carry what we know to God. Knowledge was never meant to rest on our shoulders alone. It was meant to drive us toward the One who sees everything and holds it all anyway.

So when a hard truth weighs you down today, do not just sit and stew in it. Pray over it. Ask God what He wants you to do with what you now know. Sometimes He will call you to act, sometimes to comfort someone, and sometimes simply to trust Him with what you cannot fix.

Also be intentional about what you take in. We live in an age of endless headlines and information, and we can carry more of the world's pain than any generation before us. Stay informed, but stay rooted in God's promises, so that what you learn produces compassion instead of despair.

Dear Lord, thank You that You see all things and carry them perfectly. Help me grow in wisdom without growing bitter, and turn what I learn into love and action. Teach me to trust You with the burdens that understanding brings. Amen.
