Colossians 3:16

Shared devotional content from the common study platform.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.

Colossians 3:16 · Wisdom
Reflection 1

Think about the difference between a guest who visits once a week and someone who actually lives in your home. Paul is saying God's word shouldn't just stop by on Sunday mornings; it should move in and make itself at home in your heart. That happens through small, steady habits, not giant ones.

Reflection 2

Start simple today. Read a short passage in the morning, or play Scripture while you get ready. Then carry one phrase with you into the day and repeat it while you're stuck in traffic, washing dishes, or waiting in line.

Reflection 3

This verse also isn't meant to be lived alone. Share a verse with a friend who's struggling. Send a worship song to someone who needs encouragement. When God's word fills you, it naturally overflows to the people around you.

Reflection 4

And notice the heart posture here: singing with grace. Let gratitude, not guilt, be what draws you back to God's word. When it dwells in you richly, even an ordinary Tuesday becomes a place where wisdom and worship meet.

Reflection 5

Dear Lord, make Your word at home in my heart today. Help me carry it into my conversations, my work, and my quiet moments. Fill me so fully that encouragement and song flow out of me naturally. Amen.

Prayer

Dear Lord, make Your word at home in my heart today. Help me carry it into my conversations, my work, and my quiet moments. Fill me so fully that encouragement and song flow out of me naturally. Amen.
