bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.

Colossians 3:13 · Prosperity
Reflection 1

Everyone has someone in their life who has let them down. Maybe it was a friend who betrayed your trust, a family member who keeps hurting you, or a coworker who took credit for your work. God knows those wounds are real, and He doesn't ask you to pretend they don't exist. But He does ask you to do something with them: release them.

Reflection 2

Forgiveness is not a feeling; it is a decision you make. Today, try this: name the person who has wronged you, and consciously choose to stop keeping score. That might mean deleting the mental list of everything they owe you, or simply refusing to bring up the offense one more time. Each time the resentment resurfaces, make the choice again.

Reflection 3

Bearing with one another also means showing patience with people's flaws in everyday moments. Give your spouse grace when they're short-tempered. Overlook the small annoyances at work instead of turning them into a case. Most conflicts shrink when we stop feeding them.

Reflection 4

Here is what makes this possible: Christ forgave you first. He didn't wait until you deserved it, and He didn't keep a record of your failures. When forgiving feels impossible, look at how much you've been forgiven, and let that love flow through you to someone else.

Reflection 5

You don't have to feel strong to obey this. Just take one small step today toward releasing the grudge you've been carrying, and watch how much lighter your heart becomes.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank You for forgiving me when I did nothing to deserve it. Help me release the grudges I've been holding and show patience with the imperfect people around me. Give me the strength to forgive as You have forgiven me. Amen.
