Where your attention goes, your life follows. Think about that for a moment. The things you dwell on today—worry, comparison, endless scrolling—quietly shape who you become tomorrow. That's why this verse doesn't just give good advice; it reminds us of who we are. Because we belong to Christ, our real home and our real hope are with Him.
Colossians 3:1

If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.
So what does it look like to seek things above on an ordinary Tuesday? It starts small. Before you reach for your phone in the morning, take two minutes to talk to God or read a verse. Ask Him to set the direction of your day before the noise sets in.
It also means noticing what's pulling your focus and asking an honest question: Does this deserve my attention? When worry starts spinning, pause and redirect. A quick prayer, a breath of gratitude, a remembered promise—these small turns of the heart train us to look up instead of down.
You don't have to escape your responsibilities to focus on heaven. You just bring Christ into them. Wash the dishes, do the work, love the people in front of you—but do it with your eyes lifted, remembering the One who is seated above it all, holding everything together, including you.
Dear Lord, thank You that my life is secure with You, above every worry and distraction. Today, help me lift my eyes to You in the middle of ordinary moments. Set my focus on what truly lasts. Amen.
