Every day, countless voices compete for your attention — news feeds, podcasts, social media, even well-meaning friends. Some of what they say is helpful, but some of it quietly pulls your heart away from Jesus. This verse isn't telling you to fear smart people or big ideas. It's a loving warning to stay alert so nothing empties your faith of Christ.
So how do you live this out? Start by paying attention to what you feed your mind. Before you accept an idea — even a popular one — pause and ask a simple question: Does this agree with what God says, or does it just sound good? That small habit of pausing can protect you from a lot of confusion.
This is why daily time in Scripture matters so much. You can't recognize a counterfeit unless you know the real thing well. When you regularly fill your mind with God's truth, empty ideas lose their grip, and lies become much easier to spot.
Remember, this isn't about living scared or suspicious of everyone around you. It's about living anchored. When your roots grow deep in Christ, the shifting opinions of the world can blow right past you without sweeping you away.
Father, thank You that all wisdom is found in Christ. Help me test every voice against Your truth and stay rooted in You today. Guard my heart and mind. Amen.
