Some days it feels like everything we count on can be taken away. Jobs change, health fails, people let us down. But Paul reminds the Colossians of something different: a hope that is already stored up for us, safe and untouched by anything happening on earth.
Notice that this hope isn't something we're still trying to earn. It's laid up—reserved, like a seat with your name on it. When you belong to Jesus, your future is already settled, and no bad news today can cancel it.
So how do you live this out? When discouragement creeps in, pause and remind yourself: my story doesn't end with this problem. Write it down if you have to. Speak it out loud before you open your email or check the news in the morning.
Let that secure hope change how you treat people today too. When you're not scrambling to protect your own future, you're free to be generous, patient, and kind. Hope in heaven frees your hands to love people here and now.

Dear Lord, thank You that my hope is safe with You, where nothing can touch it. Help me live today from that security instead of from fear. Teach me to share this steady hope with someone who needs it. Amen.
