Colossians 1:14 · Forgiveness
Reflection 1

Many of us live like we're still paying off a debt that's already been cleared. We replay old mistakes, apologize for the same sin over and over, and quietly assume we have to earn our way back to God. But in Christ, forgiveness isn't something you chase down. It's something you already hold.

Reflection 2

So here's a practical step for today: when the memory of a past failure resurfaces, respond differently than you usually do. Instead of sinking into shame, simply say, “That's been forgiven.” This isn't pretending you never messed up. It's agreeing with God about what He has already done.

Reflection 3

There's also a horizontal side to this truth. When you grasp how completely God has forgiven you, it changes how you treat the people who have hurt you. The person who wronged you owes you something, yes, but you've been forgiven a debt far greater than anything anyone owes you.

Reflection 4

Maybe there's someone you need to release today, whether through a conversation, a text message, or a quiet decision in your heart. Forgiveness doesn't always mean reconciliation, but it does mean laying down your right to collect. Freedom begins the moment you stop keeping score.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank You that in Jesus I am redeemed and fully forgiven. Help me to stop living like a prisoner to my past, and give me the grace to forgive others the way You have forgiven me. Amen.
