Colossians 1:12

Have you ever felt like you just don't measure up — like you're not good enough to be called God's child? Here's the good news: you didn't make yourself qualified. God did. He looked at you, loved you, and made you fit to share in a wonderful inheritance with His people.

That truth should change how we start our mornings. Instead of waking up and immediately listing everything wrong with us, we can begin by simply saying, 'Father, thank You.' Gratitude shifts our focus from our failures to His finished work, and it's hard to stay stuck in shame when your heart is full of thanks.

Living as part of God's family of light also means refusing to hide. When we mess up, our instinct is to cover it up and pretend everything is fine. But purity grows in the light — when we honestly confess our struggles to God and, when needed, to a trusted friend, darkness loses its grip on us.

So today, try two small steps. First, thank God for one specific thing He has done for you, even before you check your phone. Second, bring one hidden thing into the light through honest prayer. Watch how gratitude and honesty together begin to purify your heart and draw you closer to the Father who qualified you.

Dear Lord, thank You for making me fit to be Yours when I could never earn it on my own. Help me live today in gratitude, walking honestly in Your light instead of hiding in the dark. In Jesus' name, Amen.
