Being a witness sounds intimidating, like you need a seminary degree or a sermon prepared. But a witness is simply someone who tells what they have seen and experienced. Your story of what God has done in your life is something no one can argue with. You don't have to be a Bible expert to share it.
Here's the part that takes the pressure off: you never witness alone. God gives His Holy Spirit to those who obey Him, and the Spirit speaks alongside you. When you open your mouth about Jesus, He is already working in the heart of the person listening. The results belong to Him, not to your eloquence.
Notice the connection Jesus' followers discovered: the Spirit is given to those who obey. Obedience and power go together. Small acts of obedience, like telling the truth when a lie is easier, giving when it stretches you, or forgiving when you'd rather hold a grudge, keep your heart soft and ready for God to work through you.
So today, look for one open door. Maybe a coworker mentions a struggle, or a friend asks why you seem calm in a hard season. Don't overthink the words. Just be honest about what God has done for you, and trust the Holy Spirit to carry it the rest of the way.
Dear Lord, thank You that I never have to witness alone, because Your Spirit is with me. Give me the courage to speak up today and the obedience to follow You in the small things. Use my simple story to lead someone to You. Amen.
