serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears, and with trials which happened to me by the plots of the Jews;
Paul didn't serve God on a mountaintop. He served through tears, opposition, and people actively plotting against him. If following Jesus has felt harder than you expected, you're in good company. Difficulty was never a sign that God had left the scene.
Notice that humility came first. Paul wasn't serving to impress anyone or build his own name. Humility asks us a hard question: am I serving God, or am I serving my reputation? Real service keeps going even when nobody says thank you.
The tears and trials teach us something important: hardship doesn't mean you're doing it wrong. Maybe you're serving your family, your church, or a coworker who never seems to notice. Don't let opposition convince you to quit. God sees what everyone else overlooks.
Today, look for one way to serve quietly. Fold the laundry no one notices. Encourage someone who can't repay you. Do it without mentioning it to anyone, and let that small, hidden act be your gift to God alone.
Dear Lord, help me serve You with a humble heart, even when it costs me something. Take away my need for recognition and remind me that You see every hidden act of love. I want my life to point to You, not to me. Amen.
