‘It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.
When the Holy Spirit arrived at Pentecost, Peter announced something radical: God speaks to everyone. Not just priests or prophets, but sons and daughters, the young and the old. If you belong to Jesus, His Spirit lives in you — and that means God actually wants to talk with you.
Many of us believe God spoke in Bible times but assume He has gone quiet now. This promise says the opposite. He still gives vision to the young and dreams to those with gray hair. He has not retired from speaking to His people.
So how do you live this out? Start by making room to listen. Give God a few quiet minutes each day in prayer and Scripture, and simply ask, "Lord, what do You want to show me today?" Then stay alert — through His Word, a nudge in your spirit, or an unexpected conversation.
When God places something on your heart, share it humbly. Test it against Scripture, then use it to encourage someone who needs it. You don't need a title, a platform, or a seminary degree — just a willing heart.
And don't disqualify yourself. Too young? God uses young people. Too old? God still gives dreams. His Spirit was poured out on all flesh, and that includes you, right where you are today.
Dear Lord, thank You for pouring out Your Spirit on all people — including me. Open my ears to hear Your voice, and give me the courage to share what You show me with the people around me. Amen.
