2 Samuel 22:28

God has a special tenderness for people who know they need Him. When you come to the end of yourself and finally say, 'I can't do this on my own,' that is exactly where His help shows up. Humility isn't weakness. It's simply being honest about who God is and who we are.

Pride, on the other hand, quietly closes the door to that help. It rarely looks obvious. It shows up in small ways: refusing to ask for help, needing to get the last word, taking credit for what God has done, or brushing off correction because it stings. None of us plans to become arrogant, but pride creeps in whenever we stop depending on God.

So practice humility in small, ordinary ways today. Admit when you're wrong instead of defending yourself. Ask for help even when it feels awkward. Thank God for your talents out loud instead of quietly collecting compliments for yourself.

And here's the good news: you don't have to climb your way up to God. He bends down to lift up the humble. When you lower yourself before Him, you put yourself exactly where His saving hand can reach.

Father, keep me honest about my need for You. Where pride has crept into my heart, gently pull it out. Teach me to walk humbly today, trusting that You lift up everyone who bows before You. Amen.
