Turn back, and tell Hezekiah the prince of my people, ‘Yahweh, the God of David your father, says, “I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day, you will go up to Yahweh’s house.
When Hezekiah got sick, he did not pretend everything was fine. He went straight to God and prayed with tears running down his face. That is a picture of raw, honest prayer. You do not need fancy words or a strong front to come before God; you just need to come.
Notice how God responded: He heard the prayer and He saw the tears. Every word you have spoken to God and every tear you have cried has not gone unnoticed. Even on the days when heaven feels silent, God is paying close attention to your situation.
God also gave Hezekiah a promise he could hold onto, complete with a timeline. Healing does not always come instantly, and waiting can be the hardest part. So keep praying while you wait, and keep showing up in worship even before you feel better. Small steps of faith today prepare your heart for the healing God has ahead.
This week, bring one specific need to God and name it out loud. Maybe it is your health, a strained relationship, or a heavy burden you have been carrying alone. Write it down, pray over it daily, and watch for how God answers. And when you meet someone else who is hurting, remind them that God sees their tears too.
Dear Lord, thank You that You hear every prayer and see every tear I cry. Help me trust Your timing while I wait for Your healing, and give me the courage to keep coming to You honestly. I place my pain in Your hands today. Amen.
