But as you abound in everything— in faith, utterance, knowledge, all earnestness, and in your love to us—see that you also abound in this grace.
It is easy to feel like we are growing spiritually when we are learning a lot. We read our Bibles, listen to good teaching, and take notes, and all of that is wonderful. But in this verse, Paul reminds believers that knowing a lot is not the finish line. Real growth shows up when what we know starts flowing out of us.
Think about it this way: knowledge is like rain stored in a tank. It is good to have it, but it was never meant to just sit there. God fills us so we can pour into others. If our learning never changes how we give, serve, or forgive, it stays only on the surface.
So here is a simple challenge for today. Take one thing you have learned from Scripture recently and turn it into one action. If you have been reading about generosity, buy coffee for a coworker or help a neighbor with a need. If you have been studying patience, practice it with the person who tests you most.
Ask yourself an honest question tonight: is my knowledge making me more loving, or just more informed? God is not asking you to know less. He is asking you to let what you know become grace in someone else's life.
Dear Lord, thank You for every truth You have taught me through Your Word. Help me not just to know it, but to live it out in generous, practical love today. Let my knowledge overflow into grace that blesses the people around me. Amen.
