Because Jesus died for us, we no longer belong to ourselves. That changes how we treat people. When someone snaps at you at work or cuts you off in traffic, the real question isn't "What do they deserve?" It's "What did Christ's love do for me when I didn't deserve it?"
So here's a practical step: before you respond to a difficult person today, pause and remember the cross. Let His love set the tone in your marriage, your parenting, and your conversations. Maybe that means finally forgiving someone you've been holding a grudge against, or showing kindness to someone who can never repay you.
When Christ's love compels you, loving others stops being a duty and becomes a response. You don't serve to earn God's approval—you serve because you already have it. Live today from that love, not for your own comfort or credit.
