1 Timothy 6:11

But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.

1 Timothy 6:11 · Faith
Reflection 1

Some battles are won by running, not by fighting. Paul told Timothy to flee certain things, and that advice still works today. When you know a situation pulls you down, whether it's a toxic argument, a tempting purchase, or an old habit, the strongest move is often to simply walk away. Delete the app, leave the conversation, close the door.

Reflection 2

But running from something is only half the story. God never asks us to run away without also running toward something better. Think of a runner in a race: they don't just dodge obstacles, they keep their eyes fixed on the finish line. That's what pursuing faith, love, and gentleness looks like.

Reflection 3

So what does this look like in your ordinary day? It might mean choosing patience when your kids push every button, or responding with gentleness to a harsh email instead of firing back. It could mean trusting God with your finances when the numbers don't add up. These small, daily choices are how we chase after what is good.

Reflection 4

And here's the good news: you're not running alone. God's Spirit gives you strength for every step, and when you stumble, He picks you up and points you forward again. Keep running. Progress matters more than perfection.

Prayer

Dear Lord, help me today to turn away from what pulls me down and to run toward what pleases You. Fill me with Your faith, love, and gentleness in every conversation and decision. Thank You for running alongside me every step of the way. Amen.
