If you're walking through a hard season right now, it can feel like it will last forever. But Peter reminds us that our suffering is just for a little while. That doesn't mean your pain is small or fake. It means it has an end date, and God is the one holding the clock.
1 Peter 5:10

But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
Notice who does the heavy lifting in this promise. God is the one who restores, establishes, strengthens, and settles you. You don't have to pull yourself together by sheer willpower or pretend you're fine. Your part today is simply to stay close to Him and let Him do His work in you.
So what does that look like in real life? Start by being honest, with God and with someone you trust, about what you're actually carrying. Then take one small step of trust: a short prayer in the car, a phone call to a friend, or an early night to rest instead of doom-scrolling your worries. Small steps of trust are how hope gets practical.
And when doubt creeps in, look backward before you look forward. Think of a past season when God brought you through something you thought you wouldn't survive. He was faithful then, and He has not changed. The hard chapter you're in now is not the end of your story, because God has called you to something eternal that nothing here can take away.
Dear Lord, thank You that my hardest seasons are temporary and that You are the One who restores and strengthens me. Help me release my grip on fixing everything myself and trust You to settle my heart today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
