1 Peter 3:15

Peter starts with your heart, not your mouth. Before you can explain your hope to anyone, God needs to have first place in it. Take an honest look today: is He actually on the throne of your everyday life, or just tucked into Sunday mornings? Everything you share with others flows from what He means to you privately.

Here is the good news: you do not need a theology degree to be ready. People mostly ask questions because they notice something different about you — how you stay calm under pressure, how you forgive, how you keep going when life falls apart. Your story of what God has done for you is the answer they are looking for.

But how you share matters as much as what you share. Peter says to do it with humility and respect, which means listening before talking and being gentle instead of pushy. You are not trying to win an argument; you are pointing someone to Jesus. A loving tone opens doors that a sharp one slams shut.

So here is a simple step for today: write down one or two sentences about the hope you have in Christ. Maybe it is His peace in your anxiety or His forgiveness of your past. Keep it in your heart, and when someone asks, you will be ready — naturally, honestly, and kindly.

Dear Lord, I want You to be first in my heart today, not just in my words. Make my hope in You so real that others can see it, and give me the courage and gentleness to share it when they ask. Amen.
