You did not end up in God's family by luck, and you are not hanging on by a thread. He chose you, deliberately and personally, on purpose. Before you ever thought about Him, He was already calling you His own.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
But being chosen was never meant to stop at making you feel special. God rescued you from darkness for a reason: so your life would point other people to Him. You are part of a people whose whole purpose is to talk about how good God is.
So what does that look like on an ordinary Tuesday? It looks like giving a coworker the honest answer when they ask how you stay calm. It looks like thanking God out loud at the dinner table, not just in your head. It looks like sharing, in one simple sentence, what He carried you through.
Praise is also about how you carry yourself. When you know you belong to the King, you do not have to walk around defeated, complaining, or hopeless. Let your peace and gratitude be a living announcement of the One who brought you into His light.
Dear Lord, thank You for choosing me and calling me out of darkness into Your marvelous light. Give me the courage today to speak of Your goodness in simple, honest ways. Let my whole life be praise to You. Amen.
