When Solomon had the chance to ask God for anything, he didn't ask for wealth, fame, or a long life. He asked for an understanding heart. He understood that without wisdom, even the greatest blessings can become a burden.

We make dozens of decisions every day—how to respond to a difficult coworker, how to guide our kids, how to handle money and time. Our instinct is to trust our gut or follow the crowd. Solomon's prayer invites us to pause and ask God for discernment instead.

Notice that Solomon asked humbly, calling himself a servant. Wisdom begins the moment we admit we don't have all the answers. Starting each morning with a simple request like "Lord, help me see clearly today" opens the door for God to guide us.
