Ahab was one of the most wicked kings in Israel's history, yet God still noticed one thing about him: he humbled himself. That should encourage every one of us. God isn't waiting for perfect people to impress Him. He responds to soft hearts, even when they belong to very flawed people.
Think about what that means for you today. When you mess up, the natural instinct is to hide, defend yourself, or blame someone else. Ahab shows us a better way. Take off the armor, admit the truth, and go low before God. Humility is often as practical as a sincere apology with no 'but' attached to it.
Here's the hard question: is there pride somewhere in your life right now? Maybe it's stubbornness with your spouse, defensiveness at work, or an area of sin you keep justifying instead of confessing. Humility means naming it honestly to God and making it right with the people involved. It's uncomfortable, but it always opens the door to mercy.

Dear Lord, give me a soft heart today. Show me where pride has taken root, and help me confess it honestly and make things right. Thank You that Your mercy meets everyone who comes to You in humility. Amen.
