We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
It's easy to feel shaken by what we see around us—conflict, confusion, and darkness treated like it's normal. But if you belong to Jesus, here is the good news: your identity is already settled. You are God's, and nothing happening in the world can change that.
This truth also helps us make sense of things. The world often operates under a very different influence, so we shouldn't be surprised when selfishness, deception, and brokenness show up in the news, at work, or even in our own hearts. Instead of being shocked or discouraged, we can see clearly and stay grounded.
So how do you live this out today? Start by remembering whose you are before you check your phone or walk into your day. Let that identity shape your choices—tell the truth even when it costs you, show kindness even when it isn't returned, and stop chasing what the world says you need to be happy.
And when temptation or fear comes knocking, don't face it in your own strength. You are not a prisoner of this broken system; you are a child of God. Stand firm, pray often, and trust that the One who holds you is greater than anything in this world.
Dear Lord, thank You that I am Yours—safe and secure no matter what happens around me. Help me live today from that identity, with courage, clarity, and love. Keep me close to You. Amen.
