John wrote his letter because he couldn't keep his joy to himself. He had seen something real, and sharing it made his joy complete. That's how joy works: it's not a treasure to lock away, it's something that grows bigger every time you give it away.
Think about your own life for a moment. Maybe God answered a small prayer this week, or gave you peace in a situation that used to stress you out. Those moments matter, and they're not just for you. Someone around you may be exactly where you were six months ago, quietly hoping for a glimpse of hope.
Sharing doesn't have to be complicated. Send a text to a friend saying, "I've been thinking about you, and God has been good to me lately." Mention what He's done for you over coffee instead of only talking about the weather. Simple, honest words are often what someone else needs to hear most.
And here's the beautiful part: when you encourage someone else, your own joy deepens too. Joy multiplies in community. Don't let today pass without telling at least one person what God is doing in your life.
Dear Lord, thank You for the joy You've given me through Jesus. Help me share it boldly with the people around me today, so that my joy and theirs may be complete. In Jesus' name, Amen.
