1 Corinthians 9:24

Paul pictures a race where every runner is intentional. Nobody wins a prize by jogging wherever they feel like it or strolling when it gets hard. This verse invites us to stop drifting through our days and start running on purpose.

So what does that look like today? Maybe it means getting up for prayer before you reach for your phone, keeping your word when it costs you something, or taking one more step when you want to quit. The prize doesn't go to the most talented person in the room. It goes to the one who keeps running.

Runners train daily, not just on good days. Your faith works the same way, built through small, steady choices repeated over time. And don't waste energy staring at someone else's lane. God gave you your own race, your own pace, and your own finish line.

Here's the good news: this race isn't about running perfectly. When you stumble, get back up and keep going. Endurance, not a spotless record, is what carries you across the line.

Dear Lord, help me run today with purpose instead of just drifting through it. When I grow tired or stumble, give me the strength to get back up and keep going. Fix my eyes on the prize You've promised. Amen.
