1 Corinthians 9:21

Paul understood something we often forget: people don't need us to be perfect copies of ourselves before they'll listen. He was willing to step into someone else's world, speak their language, and respect their customs. Not to lose himself, but to earn the right to be heard. That kind of flexibility takes real humility.

What does that look like this week? Maybe it means showing genuine interest in a coworker's hobby, even though you don't get it. Maybe it means putting aside your preferred style of conversation and really listening to someone whose life looks nothing like yours. Meeting people where they are starts with curiosity, not judgment.

Here's where endurance comes in. People rarely open up after one conversation, and some may never respond the way we hope. Paul kept showing up anyway. Winning someone's heart is slow work, and giving up too soon is one of the easiest mistakes we make.

But notice Paul never loosened his grip on Christ. He bent in style, never in substance. You can adapt to anyone's situation while staying anchored to Jesus. That balance is what makes your witness both believable and lasting.

Dear Lord, help me meet people where they are instead of waiting for them to come to me. Give me the patience to keep showing up, even when change comes slowly. Keep me rooted in You as I reach out to others. Amen.
