But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

1 Corinthians 7:2 · Purity
Reflection 1

God isn't squeamish about intimacy. He designed it, and because it is so powerful, He also set boundaries around it. This verse isn't about limiting your joy; it's about protecting something precious. Purity isn't a punishment, it's a fence around a gift.

Reflection 2

If you're married, don't let this verse go stale on you. Keep investing in your spouse. Prioritize real intimacy in your marriage instead of letting busyness, resentment, or distraction crowd it out. A strong marriage is one of the best defenses against temptation.

Reflection 3

And whether you're married or single, purity starts long before a big moment of choice. It's built in the small daily decisions: what you scroll past or linger on, how you text someone who isn't your spouse, the boundaries you set before you actually need them. Temptation rarely announces itself. It leaks in slowly.

Reflection 4

Here's the practical part: cut off access where you're weak, and don't fight this battle alone. Tell one trusted friend or mentor what you're really facing and give them permission to ask you the hard questions. And if you've already stumbled, don't hide in shame. God's grace is bigger than your worst moment, and today is a fresh start.

Reflection 5

If singleness is your season, this verse reminds you that desire isn't dirty, but it does have a God-given home. Waiting is hard, but it is never wasted. You're not missing out; you're storing up trust, wholeness, and blessing for whatever God has ahead.

Prayer

Dear Lord, guard my heart and my eyes today. Give me the courage to set real boundaries and the honesty to walk in the light with people who love me. Thank You for Your grace that meets me right where I am. Amen.
