1 Corinthians 15:9

Paul had every reason to be proud. He wrote much of the New Testament, planted churches, and preached to thousands. Yet he never got over the fact that God had forgiven a man like him. That memory kept him humble, and humility kept him useful.

Most of us don't have to dig deep to find something we're ashamed of either. A broken relationship, a season of rebellion, words we can't take back. The question is what we do with that history. We can let shame bury us, or we can let gratitude fuel us.

Here's the practical part: remember your past, but don't live there. When you serve at church, do it remembering that you serve by grace, not by earning a spot. When you're tempted to look down on someone caught in sin, remember you were once on the other side of God's mercy too.

Humility also shows up in small, everyday choices. Admit when you're wrong without making excuses. Let someone else get the credit. Thank God out loud for blessings instead of assuming you earned them. These little acts keep our hearts soft and our eyes on Jesus.

God doesn't use perfect people. He uses humble ones. The person who knows they don't deserve grace is often the person who shares it most freely.

Father, thank You for loving me even at my worst. Keep me from pride, and remind me often that everything I have is a gift of Your grace. Make me humble enough to serve others the way You have served me. Amen.
