1 Corinthians 15:19

Paul doesn't sugarcoat it: if following Jesus only paid off here and now, our faith would be a sad mistake. That's a sobering thought, but it's also freeing. It means our hope was never meant to fit inside the walls of this life.

The world around us treats today as everything, so every setback feels final. A lost job, a broken relationship, a hard diagnosis—these hurt deeply, and it's okay to feel that pain. But when your hope reaches past the grave, even the worst day doesn't get the last word.

So how do you live this out today? Hold your plans, possessions, and dreams with open hands. Give generously, serve without keeping score, and forgive quickly, because you're investing in something that outlasts everything you can see.

When disappointment comes, don't let it convince you the story is over. Remind yourself that what's ahead with Christ is far greater than anything this life can take from you. That kind of hope gives you steady courage to keep going, even on the hardest days.

Dear Lord, thank You that my hope in You doesn't stop at the edge of this life. Help me hold everything here loosely and live today with eternity in view. Keep my heart anchored in You when circumstances shake. Amen.
