If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don’t have love, I am nothing.
It is easy to want to be impressive for God. We can chase knowledge, big faith, and visible gifts, and quietly believe that is what makes us matter. Paul says something shocking: without love, all of it adds up to nothing. The scoreboard in heaven is not talent. It is love.
So ask yourself an honest question today. When you serve, encourage, or give, who is it really for? Sometimes we do good things to be noticed or to feel important. Love asks a different motive: does this actually help the person in front of me?
Here is the practical part. Choose one unglamorous act of love today. Listen fully to someone instead of checking your phone. Forgive the person who irritated you last week. Bring a meal, send a text, say a kind word. None of these may look spiritual, but they are exactly what God calls great.
Strong faith and real love are not competitors. Love is what keeps faith from becoming noise. When your faith is fueled by genuine care for people, even small steps become powerful in God's eyes.
Father, forgive me for the times I have chased being impressive instead of loving well. Give me a heart that sees people the way You see them, and let love be the reason behind everything I do today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
